Meet Nowen

 Hey there! Let’s get the basics out of the way. This is Nowen’s story and why I do what I do. I am Nowen Lionel Cloete, 19 years old, from Mossel Bay, South Africa, but currently studying Human Life Sciences at Stellenbosch University.(www.linkedin.com/in/nowen-cloete) I know what you’re thinking: What is a science student doing offering digital marketing strategies? I’d like to say it all started on YouTube, but honestly, that’s not it.

You see, I’ve always wanted more not out of greed, but from an undying feeling to do more, to know more. Here are some unimportant facts, but I still want to throw them your way. I Love this degree; but, it’s always just books, which is good until you look at your bank Account. One night, I sat down and thought to myself, “I really don’t know much about the world.” This feeling made me sick to my stomach because it felt like an empty void. And I didn’t know where it came from. This is how It started and why I do what I do now.(nowencloete.com)

So what’s the next step?

I then asked myself what I wanted to know. What would make me feel as useful as I wished all of a sudden? That’s when business came to mind. I hadn’t studied it in school and had no idea how it worked, but somehow, it was all around me. I looked around for a while and searched for some basic facts about business today. That’s how I discovered copywriting which has now become Digital Marketing. For the next few weeks, I watched YouTube videos strictly about copywriting and how much you could actually learn just by helping other businesses earn as much as they could.

This was when the practice started: learning email copywriting, how to market via emails, and creating sales pages and landing pages. I was going to do it all. However, I soon found out (2 months in, exactly) that this had only been a secret to me and that many others were actively studying this craft. It was time to stand out, and I quickly learned that free courses wouldn’t do the trick.

Here’s the plan I acted upon.

I joined a paid course with a few bucks I had saved up, and this is where I learned the basics of business and how client acquisition works. The course taught me about business, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough, and I had to leave due to a lack of funds. Of course, I took all the knowledge I gained with me. It was time for the next plan on how to make money with marketing. Later, I discovered Max Business School, which was much more focused on my business model, and I figured it would help me a lot more. This was when I graduated from the school, and now I’m an official digital marketing expert. I was able to rejoin the course btw. Learning and growing everyday.
